My Background
I was born in Clinton, MD to two Philippine immigrants. Growing up, my parents focused on the importance of education first and foremost. My mom, who was a stay-at-home parent, worked with us diligently in order to give us the best educational foundation possible. We moved around quite a bit during the first 8 years of my life, and when I was 5, we lived in the Philippines for 1 year while my parents were applying for their Permanent Citizenship in the United States. I had the wonderful opportunity to learn about my Filipino heritage and get to know my extended family while I was there.

When I was 8, my family moved to our current hometown of Greensboro, NC. It was during that same year that I met the teacher who inspired me to become an educator: my Third Grade Teacher, Mrs. Pamela McCormick. I graduated from Northwest Guilford High School in 2009. From there, I attended Guilford College and majored in Elementary Education and Peace & Conflict Studies. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in 2013.

I have now been teaching at the elementary level for 6 years. I love every minute that I get to spend in the classroom and work hard to incorporate technology and real-world experiences into the classroom. I believe that every child should have access to the very best when it comes to their education and give my students 110% of my time, effort, and enthusiasm every day.
